Member lists that HMOs accept the first time

Most enrolment delays come from the staff list. The checks to run before you send it, so cover starts when the client expects.

For health and group life, the policy is only as good as the member list behind it. A list with missing dates of birth or dependants without a principal comes back from the HMO, and enrolment slips by days.

The columns every list needs

ColumnNotes
NameAs on their ID.
Date of birthDay first, e.g. 12/05/1988. HMOs price and verify on it.
GenderMale or female.
RelationshipPrincipal, spouse or child.
Staff IDThe same ID on the principal and each of their dependants.

Five checks before you send

  1. Every row has a name.
  2. Every date of birth is a real date, and none is in the future.
  3. Every dependant shares a staff ID with a principal on the list.
  4. Nobody appears twice.
  5. The number of principals matches the lives on the policy.
